Jim Burkel has 21 years of collective experience in and around Chelsea. Seventeen years working in public higher education administration, policy and program development and strategy, and eight years practicing law in public and private sectors. Jim has a BA from the University of Michigan and a JD from Wayne State University. Jim recognizes that Chelsea is a special place with good people who live, work, and play in and around the city.

I am proud to be a part of the work needed to bring this idea to life. I imagine the new park on a Sounds & Sights Thursday in the summer, during a parade, on a Saturday Market Day, or a warm fall afternoon. So many generations will benefit profoundly and lastingly from this work with the laughs, shouts of joy, smiles, connections, and reconnections.
